TORONTO, ON – Seven outstanding truck drivers have been knighted by the Ontario Trucking Association, and will travel across Ontario over the next two years sharing their knowledge of the industry to media in addition to sharing their stories and know-how about the trucking industry and highway safety with students and community groups.

Representing drivers of all types including city and highway drivers, owner-operators, truckload, Less Than Truckload (LTL), heavy specialized and reefer carriers, this year’s selection of Road Knights have a combined 100+ years of experience on the road.

The 2017-2018 OTA Road Knights Team is:

The free province-wide community outreach program has the veteran drivers spread their knowledge about sharing the road with trucks. The new team of OTA Road Knights will spend two years participating in media interviews and speaking engagements to assist in improving road safety and increasing awareness of the economic and social importance of the trucking industry. In addition, the team members will join career fairs to advocate awareness regarding the wide range of careers that are available in the industry.

Every two years, the OTA Road Knight Team members are selected by a panel of industry, government, Road Knights alumni, and media representatives.

OTA Road Knights are available for community outreach events and can share insight and perspective on sharing the road with a transport truck and how all road users can work together to achieve safer roads.
