7 things that make a trucker’s shower great.

KNOXVILLE, TENN. - - According to the latest research, the seven things truck drivers want most in a truck-stop shower are: Good water pressure; predictable temperature; modern fixtures; large thick towels; a sense of security., and cleanliness.

Oh. Was that just six? The seventh we’ll leave up to your imagination.

It’s true about the research though.

It was conducted by the experts at the Pilot Flying J Truck stops. They’re investing heavily to spiff up their showers and in order to get it right, they’ve toured the facilities and surveyed the truck-stop shower users.

And now, in order to provide exactly the kind of showers truckers want, the Pilot Flying J  is asking truckers to rate their showers on a scale of one-to-five and as an incentive, between now and Labour Day, drivers are invited to participate in “Best Shower on the Interstate Contest.”

Every three days, a driver can shower at the Pilot Flying J and by filling out a survey, become eligible to win free coffee for a year. They’ll score the showers on cleanliness, temperature, water pressure, and other shower amenities. (The contest is being run only at the U.S.-located truck stops.)

“We want to help make their life a little better by providing them a clean, hot shower like they might get at a nice hotel or at home,” says Jimmy Haslam, president and CEO of Pilot Flying J.

“Showers are one of the most important things to professional drivers,” said Mark Hazelwood, Executive Vice President of Sales and Development for Pilot Flying J.

Of course if they win all that coffee, another room at the truck stop will be way more important than the shower stall.
