A Clearer Signal Between Tractor & Trailer

Phillips Industries
As an attempted solution to the challenge of new ABS fault light requirements, when the PLC signal started generating interference with other electrical equipment in the tractor, Phillips Industries, has launched the PFM 3.01 Filter Module that is integrated into Phillips’ 7-way receptacle/wiring harness. The company says the module will eliminate all static and interference since the coupling capacitor allows the PLC signal to move between the tractor and trailer ABS power-lines without a direct connection. “The PLC4Trucks signal is segregated from the rest of the tractor power system by the new filter module and only clean DC power reaches the rest of the cab. The filter module also prevents noise sources in the cab, such as blower motors and fans, from interfering with the PLC4Trucks signal,” says Eric DeWilde, director of corporate R&D.
