A Young Man and His Canadian Classic

Brad Seabrook and a few friends around Peterborough, ON., refurbished this 1970 White Western Star last winter. The truck was built in the Kelowna, B.C., assembly plant and ran new for Purity Packaging, based in Peterborough.

The truck was then sold to Bryan Cathcart Trucking, who ran it into the mid-’90s. Seabrook took possession in 2010 but waited four years to start work on it. He kept the unusual Dayton rims, replaced the original rotted-out cab with a replacement he found in Pennsylvania, repainted the truck to the original color (with some added flourish) and added an old-school original cut-off painted steel bumper, single stack and polished tanks.

The truck has a naturally aspirated 250 Cummins backed up by a 13-speed. Seabrook reports that the truck runs very smoothly and-we nearly forgot-Brad Seabrook is 16.
