Alain Masse Named President of UAP

MONTREAL —  Genuine Parts Co. (GPC) has appointed Napa Canada’s Executive Vice President Alain Masse as president of UAP Inc.

Replacing him is John Buckley who will report to Masse along with Pierre Rachiele, who was promoted in June as executive vice president of the heavy vehicle parts division.

A wholly owned subsidiary of GPC, UAP Inc. is a Canadian provider in the distribution, merchandising and remanufacturing of automotive parts and replacement accessories for cars, trucks and heavy vehicles.

UAP has two main divisions, the auto parts division that operates a network of more than 600 NAPA and CMAX stores with 9 distribution centers, and the heavy vehicle parts division operating a network of 100 Traction stores with 3 distribution centers across Canada.

“Alain is an experienced leader with a proven track record for delivering results. He has a broad understanding of UAP’s business, having worked successfully in its auto parts and heavy vehicle parts divisions,” said Kevin Herron, senior vice president, auto parts group, USA/Canada, GPC. “He has helped implement many of the changes within the organization to improve its performance.”

Alain Masse joined UAP in 2011 as executive vice president of the heavy vehicle parts division and was promoted two years later to executive vice president of NAPA operations. At the end of 2014, he took the leadership of all corporate functions for the auto parts division as well as the heavy vehicle parts division.

Prior to joining UAP, Masse acquired experience as independent business owner, which led him to the Cantrex Group, where he was president and general manager for over five years.
