CHICAGO, IL – More than 16,500 trees are going to be planted across Canada by the end of the year because of Allied Van Lines Inc.’s silver-level sponsorship of not-for-profit organization, Tree Canada.
Tree Canada, a not-for-profit organization, will plant a tree for each 3000 miles driven by Allied Van Lines Canada.
Over the past three years Allied Canada drove more than 45 million miles, or the equivalent of 15,000 trees. In addition, the moving company donated about $ 11,000 in installments to support Tree Canada to plant an additional 1,600 trees.
"The last three years of our partnership with Tree Canada have been very rewarding,” says Rob Grohn, president of Allied Van Lines Canada. "As we drive across this great country, it will be exciting to visually see the impact we’ve made in helping the environment."
Tree Canada wants to educate Canadians to the benefit of planting and maintaining trees and encourages companies, government agencies and individuals to contribute.
“We appreciate corporate leaders like Allied Van Lines and their commitment to our environment,” says Michael Rosen, president of Tree Canada. “Their legacy will be seen and felt for generations to come throughout our country.”
