American Trucking Association Gets New Financial Officer

ARLINGTON, VA — President and CEO of the American Trucking Association (ATA) Bill Graves announced the hiring of a new bean counter for the association.

Karla Hulett will take on the role of chief financial officer with the ATA, bringing more than three decades of experience in tax and revenue administration.

Hulett previously served over 20 years in the Kansas Department of Revenue, ultimately as secretary of the department under then-Gov. Bill Graves.

She has also spent time in the private sector, most recently with Accenture, but also at Microsoft Corporation and Computer Sciences Corporation.

"I’ve had the chance to explore the challenges and opportunities of both the public and private sectors," Hulett said, "and now I’m eager to do the same in the not-for-profit sector."

Hulett said she is looking forward to working with Graves again.

"As we navigate this economic recovery," Graves said, "I can think of no one better suited to keep ATA’s fiscal house in order through these challenging times."

Hulett replaces Dave Bearfoot, who retired in January.
