Annual Truck Beauty Contest Dates, Venue Set
JOPLIN, MO – Although it’s still about nine months away, organizers have set the dates for one of the biggest truck beauty contests in North America and this time its not quite as far from Canada.
The 34th annual Shell Rotella SuperRigs competition will be held June 9-11, 2016 at the Joplin Convention and Trade Center in Joplin, Mo. The theme and events for this premier truck beauty contest for actively working trucks will be announced in the coming months.
Owner-operator truckers from across the United States and Canada compete each year for cash and prizes. Additionally, 12 lucky drivers will be selected to have their trucks featured in the Shell Rotella SuperRigs calendar.
Trucks are judged by industry professionals who score the rigs on exterior appearance, design, detail/finish, originality, and workmanship.
In total, 18 working trucks receive awards for categories such as Best of Show, Tractor, Tractor/Trailer Combination and Classic categories.
There were more than 70 entries for the event held earlier this year in Texas in which some US$25,000 in cash and prizes were awarded.
