CALGARY, (April 5, 2004) -- Trimac Transportation of Calgary was one of a handful of companies to receive top honours at the 12th annual Canadian Information Productivity Awards -- the nation's leading national IT and innovation awards program.
Managed by Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, CIPA recognizes organizations that have developed innovative results-based technology solutions in the areas of customer care, operations and efficiency, and organizational transformation.
Trimac -- Canada's second-largest for-hire carrier, specializing in dry, gaseous, and liquid bulk freight -- was honoured for a unique enterprise resource planning system. CIPA was impressed with how the IT system helps the carrier manage its business more effectively, reduces operational costs, and improves the safety of its fleet and drivers, as well as integration with the internet for order entry and invoicing.
