Volvo recalls 125K trucks
NEW YORK -- Volvo Trucks has announced a voluntary recall of 125,000 trucks in North America because of a problem with the lighting system, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. The vehicles reportedly affected are model-year 2003-2008 Volvo VN, Volvo VHD, and Volvo VT trucks. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says that the automatic circuit breakers used to protect the vehicle lighting system may not provide adequate protection. If a short circuit occurs and is left untreated, components and wiring may be subject to overheating which could possibly result in a vehicle fire. Volvo Trucks' Jim McNamara, told the Journal that the repair work should only take about 12 minutes to complete.
