Mack Trucks appoints new President and CEO
Dennis R. Slagle takes over as Mack CEO in April
Slagle, 53, has served since 2003 as president and CEO of Volvo Construction Equipment North America, headquartered in Asheville, N.C. He has more than 25 years of experience in the North American construction equipment industry -- where Mack holds a very strong position -- including serving as president of L.B. Smith, Inc., Volvo Construction Equipment's largest North American dealer at the time.
Vikner, who has served as president and CEO since 2001, will also continue to represent both Mack and its parent company, the Volvo Group, in their work with various federal government entities and industry organizations affecting the Volvo Group’s North American truck operations.
Mack is a member of the Volvo Group. With annual sales of approximately $34 billion, Volvo business areas include heavy trucks, buses, construction equipment, and marine and industrial drive systems.

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. -- Paul Vikner, the longtime president and CEO of Mack Trucks has been appointed to the truckmaker's board of directors. Suceeding him as president and CEO will be Dennis R. Slagle, effective April 1, 2008.
