Trucking gets modest rate boost from WorkSafe BC

VICTORIA -- WorkSafeBC has slightly raised insurance rates for "general trucking" in 2009 by 2 percent -- from $4.87 to $4.89 per $100 of assessable payroll.
Bus lines, instead, will see a 19-cent reduction to $1.63, while fuel storage and distribution sees the biggest drop, from $2.92 to $2.34.
Loghauling will see a decent-sized increase, from $6.14 to $6.30. Dump trucking rises modestly, from $2.65 to $2.69.
