Big News on the Heavy-Duty Engine Front

Jim Park's Truck Talk
Volume 1 Number 16

We saw two big announcements this past month from two of the world's largest heavy-duty diesel engine makers. On Aug 4, Detroit Diesel unveiled its mid-sized DD13 engine. Then, less than two weeks later, Cummins surprised everyone by announcing it will use Selective Catalytic Reduction exhaust aftertreatment to meet EPA's 2010 NOX reduction mandate.

On this edition of Truck Talk, Detroit Diesel's Jim Gray takes us on an audio walking tour of the new DD13 mid-sized diesel, and we hear directly from several Cummins experts the reasons why the Indiana-based engine maker has opted to go with an SCR NOx reduction strategy for EPA 2010.

We've tweaked the format of the podcast a little this time. Hope you like it.
