CALGARY -- One of Alberta's most respected fleet owners has been named chairman of the Calgary-based Van Horne Institute for International Transportation and Regulatory Affairs at the University of Calgary.
Darshan Kailly, who is president and CEO of Canadian Freightways takes over for Bob Brawn. Kailly has been on Van Horne's board since 1991.
Kailly, who is also past chairman of the provincial Transport and Training Development Association, will likely bring trucking issues at the forefront in his new role. One topic that's sure to be discussed often by the transportation group, is how trucking companies can improve on attracting and retaining professional drivers.
