REGINA -- Saskatchewan's Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure is introducing a new truck weight permit program for a trio of northern highways.
The government is offering carriers operating on Highways 102, 905 and 915 an annual fleet permit which allows truckers to haul at weights up to "primary weight" from July 1 until March 31 the following year.
Increased weights up to regulated limits during the winter weight season are also allowed.
During the period of April 1 to June 30, weights revert back to regulated weight limits for secondary weight highways. This permit is required to exceed 41,500 kg on Highway 905. Spring weight restrictions may also be applied to these highways.
