Survey Sez: Truckers dealing with Megan Fox syndrome

COLUMBUS, OHIO - - Truck drivers across the North America suffer from much the same problem as Hollywood starlet Megan Fox.
Apparently, they get no respect.

Fox, the box-office supermagnet known best for her supporting roles in the blockbuster Transformers series recently told reporters it’s high time she was recognized for her acting skills as well as her aesthetic appeal

And in a recent survey released by the Ohio-based Trincon Group of consultants, about 50 percent of truck drivers say they don't feel duly respected either. Indeed, the truckers told the survey, which was conducted at truckstops across the continent, they feel downright undervalued.

While the survey showed that about only 30 percent of the truckers “didn’t make enough to meet their needs,” most (about 65 percent) say they’ll stay in their current jobs until something better comes along.

The Trincon Group’s Bill Kistner explained the disgruntlement thusly: "The displeasure comes in part from distrust for their employers, a lack of respect and a desire for compensation that factors in experience and accomplishments.”

He also said the survey sparks a call for several adjustments to the trucking business, including higher standards for hiring; allowing drivers to have more home time; more proscribed career paths; keeping drivers in the informormational loops; compensating driver for longevity and outstanding performance; more mandatory training and feedback.

"The drivers have clearly told us what needs to be done, there are no longer any excuses for not acting," said Kistner.

And going by her last few films, that would be good advice for Megan Fox to heed as well.
