TORONTO -- Three existing health and safety associations have merged into a new organization called the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA).
Made up of the Construction Safety Association of Ontario (CSAO), the Electrical & Utilities Safety Association of Ontario (E&USA), and the Transportation Health and Safety Association of Ontario (THSAO), the new association builds on the strengths of the three founding organizations as it works more cost-effectively to prevent workplace injury, illness, and fatalities through training, consulting, research, and communication.
IHSA serves the aggregates, construction, electrical, pipelines, ready-mix concrete, transportation, and utilities industries.
The launch of IHSA is part of a larger realignment of Ontario’s twelve safe workplace associations.
IHSA is one of four newly created health and safety associations that came out of the realignment process. The other three are Workplace Safety North, Health and Safety Association for Government Services, and Safe Workplace Promotion Services Ontario.
