WINDSOR, Ont. -- The Ambassador bridge hasn't explained why it has put off $20 million in "critical" repairs, according to the Windsor Star.
Repairs to the main deck on the 80-year old span were supposed to begin in July, but as winter approaches there's been no construction work yet.
A U.S. safety inspection report released last year warned that the main deck span is in "poor condition," exposing cracks and corroded steel. Overall, though, the report found the bridge to be in "fair condition."
At the time, Ambassador owner Matty Moroun made headlines when he sued to keep the safety report out of the public eye.
According to The Star, bridge company officials declined comment on the status of the project.
