TORONTO -- TransCore’s Canadian Freight Index recorded the highest load volumes ever posted in the month of January; volumes exceeded the previous record set during the upsurge in 2008 by 4 percent.
January postings were up 30 percent over January 2010, while month over month declined by just over a percentage point from the previous month’s record load volumes in December 2010.
With loads reaching a peak in January, equipment postings reflected the exact opposite results. Equipment postings descended to the lowest levels for the month in over five years, the company reports.
