Got a CSA warning letter? FMCSA posts tips

WASHINGTON -- The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has posted a tip sheet online to help carriers understand a CSA warning letter and what to do next if they receive one.

FMCSA warning letters are the first step in the FMCSA's "intervention" process for carriers whose CSA performance data indicates exceeds the acceptable threshold in any given BASIC category.

Warning letters are sent to carriers who have identifiable, but not yet severe, safety alerts.
