KANSAS CITY – Beleaguered carrier YRC Worldwide became the latest major LTL carrier to set a general rate increase.
YRC, which is in the process of finalizing a cost restructuring agreement with its workers and creditors, announced an average increase of 6.9 percent beginning Aug. 1 for non-contracted freight.
However, domestic Canada rates will remain unchanged.
YRC's major competitors such as ABF Freight, UPS Freight, and Con-way Freight set increases of about 7 percent earlier this month.
