Primary truck lane at Blaine border closed until Oct

BLAINE, Wash. – U.S. Customs at the Port of Blaine, Wash. is reminding the trade community of the upcoming temporary closure of cargo booth lane 1 at the Pacific Highway crossing.

Lane 1 will be closed temporarily from September 19, 2011 to October 17, 2011 due to construction and replacement of a truck booth at the cargo crossing.

During this time, there will be an increase in cargo wait times at Blaine, border officials warn.

FAST shipments may use the Lynden Port of Entry between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm daily. The Port of Sumas is also available for all cargo shipments 24 hours a day. ?

“It is important to note that the port code transmitted on the e-manifest and the entry must be the same," says CBP. "If the shipper diverts the shipment from Blaine to Lynden or Sumas, CBP can change the port code at the diversion port.

"However, for all cargo that requires FDA Prior Notice the port code cannot be changed and the shipment must use the port specified in the Prior Notice.”

Question can be directed by calling the port office at (360) 332-2675.
