PORTAGE La PRAIRIE, Man. -- Portage Transport, a southern Manitoba-based LTL, temp controlled and hazmat hauler, has acquired Lark Transport, also of Portage La Prairie.
The Lark acquisition will reportedly add about 25 power units to Portage's fleet.
The deal will also expand Portage's customer base.
Portage Transport VP Liz Driedger told local media that there are greater opportunities with a larger fleet, which can also aid in helping to meet all the regulatory and cross-border security conditions carriers face.
Portage Transport currently runs east into Ontario, west to B.C., and into the U.S.
