ELYRIA, Ohio. -- Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, manufacturer of active safety, energy management and braking solutions, announced a new business unit last week.
The new unit will consolidate their remanufacturing efforts with the company’s aftermarket business. Bendix has years of experience remanufacturing compressors, air dryers, valves, and brake shoes.
By salvaging returned products, Bendix can now offer remanufactured components that meet OEM specs, as well as fill demand during peak times. The remanufactured products can also be guaranteed for the same amount of time as OEM product warranty.
Additionally, the new business unit can now take components originally manufactured by other brands to bring remanufactured parts as close as possible to their OEM specifications
It's also a move that Bendix hopes will contribute to future growth.
Remanufacturing for Class 6, 7, 8, and trailers in North America accounted for $3.1 billion in 2010, said Steve Mance, Bendix vice president and general manager, Charging group, in the press release, which you can read here.
