Hotdogs, coffee and donuts; MTA thanks members

WINNIPEG – With 95 percent of all goods carried in and out by truck, if there is one province where National Trucking Week is appreciated, it’s Manitoba.

The Manitoba Trucking Association sent out a thank-you to its members who came out in support of National Trucking Week.

The MTA held several events for its members during the celebratory week, including a BBQ that saw 80 members come out to enjoy the food and remarks from the Assistant Deputy Minister of Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation, John Spacek, MTA President Tom Payne, and Staff Sergeant Mark Hodgeson of the Winnipeg Police. Stephan Seckenski of Goodyear Canada was also on hand.

MTA staff also made a trip out to Headingly, MB truck weight stations where they gave out coffee, donuts and a few gifts to truck drivers passing through.

“With so much economy activity in this province related to trucking,” summed up Bob Dolyniuk, executive director of the MTA, “National Trucking Week is an important celebration for us.”
