MISSISSAUGA ,Ont. -- Handheld devices just got handier. Shaw Tracking and ExpressLane Data have partnered to create a new way for fleets to stay connected.
The new system is designed to view and send messages to fleets from smartphones, or through the web or email.
It automatically grabs data from Shaw's system, analyses that data, and sends it to the fleet manager's smartphone or handheld device.
Fleet managers can find where their trucks are, send a message to the driver, and check progress.
The new system is more than glorified texting, however.
It also allows for fleet managers and dispatchers to create searches by truck, date, or any other field. It also provides real-time daily trip summaries including stop and start vehicle information, distance, and hours on the road.
The ExpressLane Data system also syncs with your existing web Portal account, said Mike Ham, vice-president Shaw Tracking.
