TORONTO -- The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) announced their line-up for this year's convention.
The event, titled "Leadership, Inspiration, and Empowerment," will be held at the Doubletree Hilton in Toronto on November 17th and 18th.
CBC's senior business correspondent Amanda Lang will lead a panel discussion with Steve Russell of Celadon Trucking, Rick Gaetz of Vitran Corporation, and Greg Rumble of Contrans Group.
This year's Economic and Financial Outlook will examine possible implications of the upcoming U.S. election and how the results will affect cross-border operations, and Jacques Mercil, senior economist with TD Canada will report on the economic trends that will impact carriers going into 2012.
And speaking of Movember, hockey legend Lanny McDonald will be the keynote speaker for OTA's Leadership Breakfast on Friday morning, and Lawrence Gowan, current lead singer of Styx, will play the closing night gala. (Our money is on Gowan ending his set with "Come Sail Away.")
