GRANDVIEW, MO —The 2010 Supplier Quality Excellence Process Award was earned by Peterson after meeting and exceeding eight stringent business performance metrics established by Caterpillar.
Certification for this award was completed in November, 2010, with Caterpillar officials personally delivering the honor to their local headquarters recently.
Peterson Manufacturing Company is the first and only lighting supplier to earn this recognition, according to Steve Meagher, vice president of sales.
The award recognizes accomplishment in what Caterpillar calls MQ-11005 certification. Caterpillar analyzes and evaluates internal quality controls, processes, shipping performance, and capacity planning, in addition to other areas.
"They are an exceptional company and deserving of this recognition," said Tom Springer, lighting components engineer with Caterpillar.
It was a "cross-functional" team accomplishment, Petersen acknowledged in the press release.
"Every day, our organization strives to satisfy and exceed customer expectations," Meagher said. "That means everyone from shipping to engineering to sales all share the same passion and commitment."
