LAS VEGAS — Peterbilt trucks drove away with Commercial Truck of the Year Award at the American Truck Dealers (ATD) convention on Sunday.
Peterbilt's 587 SmartWay conventional tractor won in the Class 8 division and their Model 210 low cab forward took the middle podium in the medium-duty category.
The trucks were judged on overall appearance, cab comfort, noise levels, roominess and other factors in choosing the winners.
Other contenders for Class 8 included the Freightliner 114SD conventional dump truck, International ProStar Plus tractor with MaxxForce 15 engine, and the Kenworth T660 Regional Hauler with Paccar MX engine.
The medium-duty category saw entries from the Fuso Canter FE160 low cab forward, Isuzu NPR-HD Gas, Kenworth T440 Conventional and UD 2600 low cab forward.
