Maverick Raises Pay for Drivers

Maverick Transportation, LLC will be giving a pay raise to all current and incoming drivers, the company announced today.

The fleet is one of the first to raise driver pay in 2012. Maverick chairman and CEO Steve Williams said that the decision to move fast was because the company wanted to demonstrate its commitment to offer "the best compensation plan and the best driving job in the industry.

“Everyone in our industry knows that professional drivers need, and more importantly, deserve higher pay,” Williams said.

Under the new plan — effective April, 1, 2012 — tarp pay will increase to $25, doubling the previous amount, and starting pay for flatbed drivers will now be $.42-.43/mile.

Maverick is also going with a new yearly longevity incentive for all drivers.

Students and driver instructors will also receive substantial increases in various areas including training pay and mileage incentives.

Maverick will continue to offer weekend home time in most divisions, per diem pay, fuel bonuses, detention pay, referral bonuses, and complete medical benefits.
