COLUMBUS, IN. – ACT Research reported that January trailer net orders eased from December to 26,000 units, but were the strongest orders for the first month of the year since 2006.
“The trailer industry is now entering its third year of the recovery cycle,” reported Frank Maly, director-CV transportation with ACT Research.
“Rising backlogs and low levels of cancellation activity add to the strength of demand for trailers. Availability of component supplies will support slow growth in build in 2012, but quantum leaps in production do not appear to be in the cards at this time,” he added."
