Kinedyne's 'Kaptive Beam' systems provide a “double decking” solution designed to optimize trailer cube space for van fleet operators. The system actually creates a second cargo deck using a strategic system of tracks and beams.
In the traditional floor-load method, says the company, a trailer is usually filled to capacity before it reaches the allowable weight limit. The Kaptive Beam system utilizes the maximum cargo space inside the trailer and as a result is claimed to decrease loading time, increase overall freight capacity, reduce freight damages, reduce lost decking beams, and offer more over-the-road fuel-efficiency. Kinedyne says it will consult with the customer, then test and validate a system that meets their needs.
