Side by side logos for the BCTA and Death By Diesel.
First, one of these logos has been serving the British Columbia Trucking Association for a quite some years now.
The other has come out of the mist, from a group called Death By Diesel.
I Googled Death By Diesel to ask about the logo, but there’s no phone number on the site. So I thought I’d just stick it up here to see if anyone thinks Death By Diesel has anything in common with George Harrison, the man who “wrote” My Sweet Lord.
A free Today’s Trucking Cap to who ever guesses what the heck I’m talking about vis-à-vis the Beatles’ lead guitarist and Death By Diesel.

P.S. For the record, the BCTA is more of a man than me and not caring one whit about this logo thing. That fine organization is finding itself a new one, anyway. This venture is purely my own invention.
Here’s part two of the toofer: Pete’s tips for living I’m sharing just because I want to and because they all work.
- Want faster service when phoning a Federal or Provincial government service outside Quebec? Press two for “Service en Francais.” Your call will be answered quicker and the attendant will be bilingual and will help you.
- Stuck in traffic trying to get somebody to let you cut in? Catch a passing driver’s eye and hold it. You’ll own him. Works every time, not so great if he's wearing sunglasses or his car has smoked glass.
- If you’re at a party, always carry two drinks in case you find yourself in the middle of an extremely boring conversation (say somebody’s telling you about an episode of a TV show that you don’t care about) you can just hold up one of the drinks and say “oh gosh I almost forgot, I have to deliver this.” (This one I attribute to one of my favorite Journalism Professors, Patrick McFadden.) Wait... You’re leaving. You have a what to deliver?? A drink?
