Bendix goes to the front of the school bus

ELYRIA, Ohio – School bus maker Blue Bird Corporation has named Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems its supplier of the year for 2014.

The award, handed out at Blue Bird’s annual Supplier Conference in Macon, GA, cites Bendix for superior performance and commitment to innovation.

A supplier for several Blue Bird wheel-end offerings, Bendix strategically partnered with Blue Bird in 2014 to launch its ADB22X air disc brake.

The Supplier of the Year award is the top honour handed out to Blue Bird’s 390-plus production suppliers. Ten other companies were also recognized for quality, innovation, service, and timely delivery.

“Bendix is truly honored to receive this prestigious award from Blue Bird Corporation,” said Scott Burkhart, Bendix vice president, sales, marketing, and business development. “We value our collaboration with Blue Bird and look forward to continuing to work together to provide innovative, reliable, and high-quality solutions for Blue Bird buses. We are proud to partner with Blue Bird to help ensure a safe school bus ride for students each day.”

Blue Bird, based in Fort Valley, Georgia, has sold more than 550,000 buses since its formation in 1927, with nearly 200,000 buses in operation today.
