Bendix outgrows home office, builds new one

ELYRIA, OH — The braking and high-tech safety-innovator Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems will construct a new headquarters in Northeast Ohio, within 20 miles of the current location in Elyria, Ohio, the company announced.

Bendix has outgrown its current Elyria headquarters, which house 500 of the company’s 2,800 employees and oversees the company’s research, development, engineering, testing, sales and marketing.

The new head office is being built to accommodate the growth Bendix has experienced in the past 12 years. A date for groundbreaking has not been set and awaits approvals from state and local entities.  The company will continue to operate from the Elyria location until construction on the new facilities is complete.

“We are grateful for our time in Elyria and for the support and cooperation we have received from the community over our many decades here,” said Joe McAleese, Bendix chairman. “The move will enable us to further expand our business and sustain our ability to develop solutions to meet the needs of the commercial vehicle industry.”
