Bendix Wingman comes to Kenworth medium-duty

Kenworth will add the Bendix Wingman Advanced collision mitigation system as an option on its medium-duty Kenworth T270 and T370 trucks.

The radar-based collision mitigation system combines adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking.

Radar sensors mounted on the front bumper watch following distance as well as alerts about potential impacts and stationary objects. If the cruise control is set, it will actually respond to the warnings by pulling back on the throttle and applying the engine retarder or even foundation brakes.
