Best Truckers Going Head to Head

ABBOTSFORD, B.C.— Thirty three of the best truck drivers in Canada will be converging on Abbotsford this weekend to compete in the National Professional Truck Driving Championships.

Competitors from B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes will be competing for the Canadian title in five vehicle classes, ranging from straight trucks to B-trains (tractors pulling two trailers).

The fun starts at Abbotsford’s Tradex at 8:30 a.m., and winds up at 4:00. At that time judges will announce the national winners in each category and proclaim the winning team and Grand Champion for 2013.

Admission is free.

The championships are hosted by the British Columbia Trucking Association with partners FleetSmart, Natural Resources Canada and the Trucking Safety Council of B.C.

The event is also supported by BC Ferries Corporation, BFL Canada Insurance Services Inc., Chevron Canada Limited, FedEx Freight, Home Hardware, Husky Energy/ myHuskyRewards, McCullough Coach Lines, SGI Canada / Cargo Secure, and Zurich Canada.
