Breaker 1-9: How You Can Help Teddy Bear

ST. JOHN’S, NL – Breaker 1-9, is anyone there? Maritime truckers are organizing the annual Teddy Bear Convoy to  raise funds for Newfoundland’s Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation to help the province’s sick children.

The Teddy Bear Convoy in St. John’s will take place on June 7, 2015 to coincide with the annual Janeway Telethon, and will start with a meet and greet at City Tire’s Retread Plant on the TCH at 8:30 AM.

Last year, 70 trucks raised $35,000 for the foundation, almost doubling the previous year’s donation.

The event’s organizers are appealing to the trucking community to help them help Newfoundland’s sick children by donating and/or participating in the convoy.

Donations can come from individuals or companies, but must be recorded on your pledge sheet, which must be sent in to Jocelyn Miller by June 5, 2015. Miller can be reached at 722-1991 or auto@eastcantrans.com. Donations and pledge sheets for those participating in the convoy can be submitted to the Just For Kids Transportation Group at City Tire on June 7 before the convoy starts.

The person who collects the most money will receive two tickets for the Journey Concert at Mile One Stadium. There will also be a social barbeque for everyone, sponsored by Marine Atlantic, following the convoy.
