Canadian firms among best fleets to drive for

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Five Canadian trucking companies are among North America’s 20 best fleets to drive for.

The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) and driver training company CarriersEdge jointly compile the annual Best Fleets list to identify for-hire trucking companies that provide the best workplace experiences for drivers.

Among this year’s winners are Bison Transport of Winnipeg, Man.; Erb Group of New Hamburg, Ont.; Kriska Holdings Ltd. of Prescott, Ont.; Liberty Linehaul Inc. of Ayr, Ont,; and TransPro Freight Systems Ltd. of Milton, Ont.

The next phase of the contest will be to divide the highest scoring fleets into small and large fleet categories, from which two overall winners will be selected. The overall winners’ names will be announced March 10 at an awards ceremony during TCA’s Annual Convention at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Kissimmee, Fla.

In addition to the Best Fleets to Drive For, TCA and CarriersEdge also identify five “Fleets to Watch” for their innovative driver programs. Among the winners in this category are Challenger Motor Freight Inc. of Cambridge, Ont.; and Drive Logistics of Windsor, Ont.

Scoring evaluates such things as total compensation package, health benefits, pension plans, career opportunities, and team-building activities.
