Cascadia gets FlowBelow AeroKit

Freightliner now offers the complete FlowBelow Tractor AeroKit system as a factory-installed option on the Cascadia Evolution.

This expands an earlier agreement between Daimler Trucks North America and FlowBelow to offer the latter’s Quick-Release aerodynamic wheel covers as a factory-installed or aftermarket option.

The complete Tractor AeroKit system will be paired with the new Cascadia Evolution trucks built at Daimler’s truck plants as well as being made available for aftermarket purchase and installation through all Freightliner dealers in North America.

The Tractor AeroKit reduces aerodynamic turbulence and drag on the truck by streamlining air flow past the drive wheels. When optioned, each 6×2 or 6×4 truck is outfitted with Quick-Release wheel covers, center fairings located between the wheels, and rear fairings behind the wheels. The system improves fuel efficiency by controlling the air flow along the side of a vehicle.
