Cinnabon Rolls Across Truck Routes of North America

AROMA WITH A VIEW: With staff looking on, Cinnabon President Kat Cole and Whitney Haslam Johnson, director of brand and customer experience at Pilot Flying J officially open their latest truck stop operation.

MEBANE, N.C. — The president of what has to be the nicest-smelling food-service company in the world—Cinnabon—told a recent interviewer that when they put their ovens at the rear of the stores, sales drop “by the mid-double digits.” And that’s why Cinnabon makes their  cinnamon rolls up front where you can watch.

It’s also the reason 100 Pilot Flying J truck stops smell better than any other truck stops on the planet.

This past Friday, the chief cinnamon rollers from Cinnabon celebrated their 100th Pilot Flying J installation at Mebane.

What’s so special about Cinnabons at truck stops? Pilot Flying J is one of the few locations where consumers can find Cinnabon treats 24 hours a day.

By the end of 2015, an estimated 150 Pilot Flying J locations will carry fresh-baked Cinnabon products.

“Travel centers and plazas are an exciting growth vehicle for the Cinnabon brand,” said Cinnabon President Kat Cole. “We are thrilled to spread our footprint across accessible venues for those looking for a moment of satisfaction amid their busy schedules.”

And to make the occasion truly memorable for visitors, they handed out free Cinnabon rolls and coffee.
