Waterloo, Ontario's Descartes Systems Group says the new release of its cloud-based Transportation Management suite provides better control across private-fleet and for-hire operations while also helping with carrier compliance for small-package shipments. It's part of the company's Logistics Technology platform.
Route plans are executed through integrated dispatching, tracking, and telematics for complete management and tracking of delivery, driver and vehicle performance.
Freight bills are audited down to the line and assessorial level, with the costs allocated.
Because it's cloud-based, customers simply connect to the system by way of a Web browser and the internet.
