Contrans reports record revenues for 1998

WOODSTOCK, Ont. — Contrans Corp., which specializes in truckload and bulk transportation, reported a 75% increase in revenues for the fiscal year 1998 (ended August 31).
Revenue was $198 million, up from $113 million in fiscal 1997.

Building on its original subsidiary, Laidlaw Carriers, the company has made several acquisitions in the past 18 months, including Christie Transport of North Gower, Ont.; Brookville Group, Saint John; Fillion Transport, Montreal, Transport Transol, Montreal; Monterray Transport, North Bay, Ont.; and Clair’s Transport, Burlington, Ont.
