Cookson Motors Shows Big Growth Over Past Five Decades

KELOWNA, BC – Half a century after Hugo Cookson Sr. started selling International trucks in the same location it stands on today, Cookson Motors Ltd. has grown from three to 65 employees and now has a branch in Penticton, BC.

However, that’s not the only thing that’s grown during this time. The original shop has increased from 2,500 sq. feet in 1965 to 21,000 sq. feet of shop and office space today.

Today Hugo Cookson Jr. runs the business.

“Over the years growth has always been steady and firmly based on a solid foundation of trust and integrity. Our success is largely due to five decades of family ownership, great products, quality service, long-term employees and a very loyal customer base,” he said. “We pride ourselves that we have been long associated with quality customer service and a dedication to our employees. The personal touch, indeed the family touch, is very much evident at Cookson Motors because we know our roots and understand the customer service philosophy.”

Cookson Motor said it would be having a 50th anniversary party in the near future.
