CTHRC names exec director successor to Gauthier

OTTAWA, Ont. — Angela Splinter is the new executive director of the Canadian Trucking Human Resources Council.

She takes over for Linda Gauthier, who chose to retire from the council.

Gauthier, though, will help with the transition before fully departing later this month.

According to the Council, Splinter has extensive experience in human resources management, particularly in the area of sector council programming.

She recently served as the Electricity Sector Council’s director, Projects and Development.

That followed six years as a management consultant for councils serving the electricity, mining, automotive repair and contact centre industries.

Splinter noted that the shortage of qualified workers trucking threatens the bottom line of many trucking businesses. "I am thrilled to join the CTHRC team that knows the trucking industry and is committed to addressing these HR needs."

CTHRC Board Chair Gord Peddle, VP and chief operating officer of Atlantica Diversified Transportation Systems stated that the Council is looking forward to a fresh outlook.

"We are confident that Angela Splinter has the skills to build on the solid foundation established under Linda Gauthier’s leadership," he said.
