Kinedyne’s new Kin-Sider and ultra-fast Kin-Slider Systems feature weather-tight designs, heavy-duty rollers, and super-durable vinyl, the company says, all finished with optional high-resolution printing and an exclusive coating that resists graffiti, UV rays, and biological activity.

While the Kin-Sider employs familiar fasteners at the bottom of the curtain side, the Kin-Slider features what Kinedyne calls a “revolutionary” latching approach that enables the curtain to be effortlessly opened and closed within seconds.

In designing its new Kin-Sider and Kin-Slider systems, Kinedyne says it focused on addressing weaknesses such as single-point latching, moisture intrusion, mechanical failure, graphic fading, and fungal growth. Kinedyne says it engineered in a higher degree of performance at every level.

With the Kin-Slider, the company says it also tackled speed of operation and ease-of-use issues that can affect those who need to open and close their curtain sides frequently.

The Kin-Slider opens and closes at both ends of the trailer, and cargo can be fully accessed and the curtain closed again within moments. The system has a unique full-length, vertical, multi-latch closure system with an adjacent, all-in-one latch release mechanism located both forward and aft.

The Kin-Sider replaces traditional curtain-side systems commonly used on 18-wheelers. Closures include web assemblies with easy-to-operate over-center buckle and hook fasteners that are located at the bottom of vertical reinforcements and are augmented with double screws and bolt plates.

The graphics available as options on both systems are a result of exclusive materials, advanced processes, proprietary finishes, and “clever” engineering. Kinedyne starts with a high-tenacity, flame-retardant, PVC-laminated polyester substrate that’s said to be 10% thicker than competing tarp materials and has an operating temperature rating of between 158 degrees F (70 C) and -22 F (-30 C).

Kinedyne can apply its customer’s graphics to the base curtain material using sophisticated digital printing technology capable of achieving resolutions of 360 dots per square inch, the equivalent of a high-quality print magazine. The printed curtain wall is then covered with an anti-graffiti coating, which also protects against UV rays and fungal growth.

Kinedyne’s multipurpose coating is so effective and resistant to foreign agents that materials such as spray paint can be removed with just water within 24 hours. The systems are easy to maintain and are safe to be cleaned at any standard commercial truck wash.
