STUTTGART, GERMANY — Daimler Truck’s Andreas Renschler is saying “auf wiedersehen rigs; hello cars.”
On Thursday, the Supervisory Board of Daimler AG announced that Renschler, who has been a member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and head of Daimler Trucks since Oct. 1, 2004, will be switching jobs with another longtime Daimler executive, Dr. Wolfgang Bernhard.
Bernhard has been head of operations of Mercedes-Benz Cars since Feb., 2010. Renschler will assume Board of Management responsibility for production and purchasing of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars & Mercedes-Benz vans.
Commented Dr. Manfred Bischoff, Chairman of Daimler AG: “Wolfgang Bernhard and Andreas Renschler are two highly experienced members of Daimler’s Board of Management.
“With this change, they will both be able to utilize their management know-how from their previous responsibilities in their new functions, thus expanding their own expertise in all automobile areas.”
The changes will take affect April 1.
