Day & Ross forms Supply Chain Solutions division

HARTLAND, NB -- Day & Ross Transportation Group has consolidated six existing services in a newly created division, Day & Ross Supply Chain Solutions. It combines six divisions that formerly operated individually: non-asset based freight brokerage, intermodal services, air-freight forwarding, ocean-freight forwarding, Freight Brokerage Solutions, and special project/over-dimensional freight forwarding.

“This is not new to the Day & Ross suite of services” says Douglas Harrison, president of Day & Ross General Freight. “What we’ve done is package these existing services into a more strategic offering for our existing and prospective clients”.

The new group manages over $120 million worth of freight today, says Harrison.

The Supply Chain Solutions group makes sense, he adds, for companies requiring a range of services from road and rail transportation within North America and/or ocean and air transportation in and out of North America, to fully outsourcing their supply chain. The new division's features include single or bundled services, single point of contact, and value-added supply chain expertise, among others.

Established more than 60 years ago with one truck hauling potatoes, the Day & Ross Transportation Group now operates as Day & Ross General Freight, Sameday Worldwide, Day & Ross Dedicated Logistics, and the new Day & Ross Supply Chain Solutions. The General Freight division provides LTL and TL service anywhere in Canada out of 34 terminals, to and from the United States through a strategic alliance with a major U.S. carrier, and scheduled TL operations to and from Mexico. It runs some 1200 power units, 2000 trailers, and has more than 2500 employees and owner-operators. The company at large, a wholly owned subsidiary of McCain Foods, employs 3500 people.
