Dometic Portable Cooler

Dometic has introduced an “innovative” new portable cooler, the thermoelectric Dometic TropiCool TC-21US.

It uses thermoelectric technology to act as a cooler or as a warming box to keep food cool or hot. The TropiCool offers enough vertical space for 2-liter bottles, along with what Dometic calls “highly effective” insulation, a detachable lid with snap-lock closure, and handy carrying grips.

The TropiCool is ideal for drivers who regularly drive different trucks, Dometic suggests. It’s said to be rugged, affordable, and light, costing “far less” than a portable refrigerator. It’s said to be “by far the most rugged and best in performance for its class.”

The TropiCool uses Peltier thermoelectric technology for either heating or cooling with 12V DC/120V AC power. No compressor is required. As soon as the power is on, the TropiCool cools or heats at full capacity to reach the desired temperature. Once this has been achieved, it switches automatically to the power-save mode. At the touch of a button the coolers (34°F to +59°F) can be turned into warmer boxes (122°F to +149°F). The unit comes with easy to use controls and settings, a magnetic lock and a sturdy, fold-away handle. It is available in either grey or green.
