Don’t cross Halifax’s Macdonald bridge at night

HALIFAX, NS- The Angus L. Macdonald Bridge in Halifax will be closed for repairs during the night from March 1, 2015 to June 26, 2015.

The Macdonald Bridge will be closed five nights a week from Sunday to Thursday, between 7:00 p.n. and 5:30 a.m., according to the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association (APTA).

The closures are due to the kick-off of the Big Lift Project, a huge refurbishment of the Macdonald bridge. During construction hours, night crews will be reinforcing the bridge’s stiffening truss and the bridge will be closed for all traffic save pedestrians and cyclists.

The bridge will be open to all regular traffic during the daytime.
